FAQ

Kim receives more than 50 calls each and every day -- many are humans calling with questions. In the coming weeks and months we are going to post some our frequently asked (and answered) questions here.

Why is this dog's adoption fee $____ and that dog's adoption fee $____?
Kim explains, "Due to encroaching urban sprawl, diminishing yard size, and the fact that space is in short supply, more people are looking for small dogs. As a result, the larger dogs are euthanized more frequently. Consequently, asking a higher adoption donation for the smaller dogs enables us to foster the 8-year-old black Labrador, who loves nothing better than playing 'tennis ball' and lying on the kitchen floor, until his home is found."

Are the adoption fees negotiable?
No. Please see above.

{This next question was asked by both the Shelter Director of the Humane Society, as well as many visitors to THREE RIVERS RESCUE about her home.}

How come your house doesn't *smell* like DOGS?
Kim's first answer: "Show up at 5AM and I'll show you." :) She explains, "What this means is: consistent cleaning; lots of bleach; and above all else, clean dogs. Dogs that are clean (bathed and brushed) -- don't smell (or leave that greasy black gook on your sofa."
